Florida Department of Transportation

Description

In 2015, the Florida Department of Transportation celebrated its centennial anniversary by honoring the significant transportation milestones that have taken place in Florida during the past 100 years.

This centennial campaign was designed by selecting numerous transportation initiatives that have laid the foundation for a safe transportation system, ensuring the mobility of people and goods, enhancing economic prosperity, and preserving the quality of our environment and communities.

I modified the traditional FDOT logo for the celebration and created a shortened style guide for the new color and text variations.

The 40 transportation initiatives selected span from 1915-2015 and range from the FDOT Central Office, State Materials Office, all seven Districts, and the Turnpike.

I posted entries to social media at least once a week throughout the year, sometimes "On This Date" #OTD, but most often on "Throwback Thursdays" #TBT to correspond with the historical nature of the campaign. The #FDOT100 hashtag was added to keep track of the year's conversation.

At the beginning of the year, employees were given a 2015 Historical Calendar that I also had the opportunity to design.
